My own story...
As a child, I took part in every school show and theatre production I could find, and developed a real passion for performance. But after university, having discovered a strong organisational skills-set, I pursued a career in media production. Over ten years I worked my way up from tea maker to Managing Director at a corporate media production company, growing its turnover to over £1 million. But my goal remained to one day run a stage school to allow others to discover and develop that passion, too.
The time for this presented itself in 2008 when the demands of a corporate job and a new baby presented its challenges and the time was right to follow her own dream and, fifteen years later, my thriving drama business, StageAbility, is the result.
My experience in developing lesson plans and building my business over the last fifteen years has now led me to support others teaching drama who may be just beginning their career or are perhaps feeling a little jaded.
I have been writing class plans for over fifteen years now and, as I decided to take on the mammoth task of organising and categorising these, I knew it was something that could help other teachers. I have been assessing, categorising and updating material from all of my drama class plans from the last 15 years and I first shared it as The DTT Online Resource 1.0 back in April 2024, unfinished!
